Loved your comments on the post last Wednesday! Now, here we go again…
1. Do you envy Toni Reale as much as I do? She’s seen here arranging locally grown flowers inside Ramblin’ Rosie, a 1970s-era English ice-cream truck. Go here for the rest of the story.
2. For those of you who missed the post last week about (inter)National Lonely Bouquet Day, you can find it here. Hope you’ll consider joining the us on June 30th. Emily (Fleuropean) posted examples of tags to use on your bouquets here. And here’s Emily explaining her idea…

Five-time RHS Chelsea Gold Medal Winner Joseph Massie today unveiled a floral portrait of King George VI in celebration of The Queen’s upcoming birthday and to mark the release of historical drama Hyde Park on Hudson on Blu-ray and DVD on Monday.
Hyde Park on Hudson tells the captivating true story of the first time a reigning British monarch visited America in the summer of 1939, succeeding the events of the film ‘The King’s Speech’. The film features a stellar ensemble cast including Bill Murray as President Roosevelt, BAFTA winning Olivia Colman (Twenty Twelve) as the Queen Mother and Samuel West (Mr Selfridge) as King George VI.
At the unveiling, Massie commented; “I am thrilled to be a part of this celebration of our political history and royal family, especially when a new member of that family is expected in July!”
A spokesperson from Universal Pictures (UK) Ltd added “Hyde Park on Hudson has given us the opportunity to pay tribute to King George VI and the pivotal role he played in the run up to the Second World War in a unique way. We are very pleased with Joe’s amazing homage, and hope that The Queen is too!”
The tribute to King George VI was inspired by the stamps that carried his image during his reign. The 2ft by 3ft portrait was created using 250 crimson ‘Naomi’ roses to provide a bold backdrop to the design while smaller details including the text, the King’s profile and flower detail were reproduced using white ‘Akito’ and white spray roses.
6. I have a packet of poppy seeds for the first two people who leave me a comment saying they want them (sorry, must be in the US)…from my garden to yours…
Happy Wednesday!
